Summary

As part of Citrix Cloud’s ongoing security improvements and compliance efforts, we are pleased to announce the beginning of TLS 1.3 support. Citrix Cloud will continue to support TLS 1.2 as well.

What is TLS 1.3?

TLS 1.3 (Transport Layer Security version 1.3) is the latest iteration of the TLS protocol, standardized by the IETF (RFC 8446). It offers significant improvements over previous versions, including faster connection times, improved security features, and better compliance with modern standards.

Required Actions

Most users will not need to take any action to benefit from TLS 1.3, as supported browsers and clients will automatically negotiate its use when available. TLS 1.2 will remain as a fallback option for cases where either the client or server does not support TLS 1.3. We recommend enabling TLS 1.3 alongside TLS 1.2 whenever possible to ensure the strongest available protocol is negotiated. TLS 1.3 employs the following cipher suites:

  • TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
  • TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
